Welcome and thank you for choosing to stay at Ynys Hut. We want to make sure you have a great stay.
You will find details about our Shepherd’s Hut in this manual, along with a local Guidebook to help you plan your stay.
There are plenty of great pubs and restaurants nearby, as well as lots of things to see and do whilst you are in Herefordshire.
House Rules
We know rules are boring, but we would really appreciate if you could have a quick read of our guidelines below.
1 – Please Clean Up Dishes
If you use any dishes or utensils during your stay, we would be grateful if you could clean them. This would be of great help.
2 – Number of Guests
Ensure total guests matches that on your booking. If you have more guests than what you have booked for, you will not be covered under Airbnb Insurance.
3 – Check Out is 11am
Our cleaner will arrive shortly after 11am to clean the property.
4 – Lights
We would really appreciate if you could turn off all lights when you leave the hut each day, and on check out.
5 – Smoking
We have a strict no smoking policy inside Ynys Hut. This includes e-cigarettes.
6 – Laundry
We politely ask that you strip the bed and put all dirty linen in the white bag provided before you check out.
Entry & Check-In
Self-check-in is available at Ynys Hut. The keys to the hut can be found in a lockbox. Please refer to your check-in message for location and code.
Parking
We provide parking for one car in a designated space, just next to the Secret Garden.
Internet
We provide free Wifi at Ynys Hut. Please refer to the hard copy of your Welcome Pack in the hut for network and password details.
Amenities
We provide all bed linen (excluding towels), blankets, kettle, toaster, tea, coffee and sugar sachets, plates, mugs, wine glasses and cutlery for 2 people, one basket of wood, board games, BBQ firepit, mini electric hob, saucepan, basic utensils, loo paper, paper hand towels, hand soap and sanitiser.
General Waste & Recycling
Please make use of the bins we have provided.
1 – White Bin
Kept inside the hut for general waste.
2 – Silver Bin
Used for recycling. This can be found in the outside kitchen area. Please refer to the recycling poster for full list of recyclable materials.
3 – Green Bin
Used for food waste only. This can also be found in the outside kitchen area.
Fire Safety
1 – Wood Burner
Please use the wood burner responsibly. It is important that you do not leave the fire unattended. If you are leaving the hut, make sure you close the air vents and wait until the flames have died down to embers. Make sure the woodburner doors are completely closed and secured.
2 – BBQ Firepit
Never leave the BBQ firepit unattended. Ensure it is cool before attempting to move it.
3 – Fire Ashes
Upon checkout please don’t worry about removing any of the fire ashes from the wood burner or the firepit. Our cleaner will dispose of these safely.
4 – Fire Extinguisher & Alarms
We provide a fire extinguisher in the hut for emergencies, which can be found in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. The hut is fitted with smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
5 – Fire Assembly Point
In the event of a fire, please go to our fire assembly point, which is located at the top of the paddock, adjacent to the barn.
Emergencies
In case of emergency dial 999. The closest hospital is The County Hospital, Stonebow Road, Hereford, HR1 2BN, which is located a 20-minute drive away from Ynys Hut.
